Red Cherry Shrimp

These popular, hardy Red Cherry Shrimp are great for people wanting to start out keeping and breeding shrimp. They are bright so look great in a planted aquarium. They love to live in grass or moss so we recommend having a planted tropical aquarium.

Ease of care
Easy. Do not use any treatment that contains Copper. Please always read the label.
Diet
Mainly algae & vegetation. Shrimp pellets are good for them however they shouldn't have too much protein as it causes health issues.
Compatibility
Species only is best for breeding however can go with small fish such as Tetras or Rasbora. They thrive in a planted aquarium with hiding places.
Breeding/ Sex
Easy, no extra work is necessary. Females are brighter and slightly larger than the males.
Life Span
They can live to anything from 1-2 years in perfect conditions.
