Odessa Barbs
The hardy Odessa barb is a species of cyprinid fish known from Central Myanmar where it is known to occur in an artificial pond above the Anisakan Falls and also from the lower Chindwin River. This fish is also known as the fish species "Odessa barb" because it was said to have first appeared in pet enthusiast’s circles in Odessa, Ukraine in the early 1970s. Odessa barbs will thrive in planted tanks.

Ease of care
Easy. Odessa Barb tropical fish are great for hobbyist at all levels, however they will thrive in softer water conditions.
Diet
Omnivorous. The main food we recommend would be tropical flake. Occasional live bloodworm or frozen food can be given as a treat.
Compatibility
Odessa Barbs can be kept in community with barbs or other peaceful fish of a similar size. Odessa barbs are not commonly known to be aggressive, but may have mild fin-nipping tendancies.
Breeding
Odessa Barbs are egg layers, breeding isn't easy but is possible in captivity. A dedicated tank with dim lighting will be required along with specific sterile water conditions.
Life Span
Odessa Barbs can live to anything up to 5 years in perfect conditions.
