Assorted Ryukin Goldfish 2-3"
Ryukin Goldfish
There are many different types of fancy goldfish, one popular variety is the ryukin goldfish. Assorted Ryukin goldfish are a breed of goldfish that originate from China. These fish have a very unique profile. They are almost egg-shaped with a short and stubby body, and the belly is quite round. Ryukins have a large dorsal hump, connecting the head to the rest of the body. When you combine the height of the dorsal hump with the rounded shape of the belly, these two features make the head appear pointed. This listing is for 2-3" inch ryukins of assorted colours, including variations of orange, white, red, black and brown patterning.
Ryukin's aren’t strong swimmers. As such, they appreciate the most oxygenated waters you can provide. Consider adding air stones to boost the oxygen levels.
Planted tanks with enough clear space for swimming are ideal - elodea and Vallisneria are a good choose of plant to use with fancy goldfish.
Assorted Ryukin goldfish 2-3" make peaceful additions to community tanks and shouldn't cause any problems for the rest of your fish. Ryukin goldfish are easy to keep healthy if the tank is clean and they are fed a good diet, making them suitable for beginners.
How big do Assorted Ryukin goldfish get?
A fully grown Chocolate Oranda fancy goldfish usually reaches 15-30cm, around 6-12" inches in length. A high protein feed and a large aquarium will help to achieve maximum growth potential. Care must be taken not to house with smaller fish that can fit in its mouth, when it reaches adult size.
Can you keep Assorted Ryukin goldfish in an outdoor pond?
Assorted Ryukin goldfish, like many fancy goldfish, will survive in temperatures above 16 degrees, which makes them unsuitable for ponds during cold autumn and winter seasons. Many aquarists keep fancy goldfish like Ryukins in outdoor or indoor ponds during the summer, and transfer them indoors to an aquarium during the winter months.

Compatibility
Fancy ryukin goldfish are compatible with virtually all community goldfish. As they grow, care must be taken not to house with fin-nippers or smaller fish that they are able to fit in their mouth. Mixing Ryukin's along with Black Moor, Oranda, Fantails or Pearlscale goldfish is ideal. They are slow swimmers, non-competitive at feeding and very friendly, making them the perfect tank mates. Ryukin goldfish are not a schooling fish but will feel comfortable in a tank with a number of their own species. Other compatible tankmates include shoals of white cloud mountain minnows, plecos and corydoras (in warmer tanks).
Diet
Omnivorous. Feed sinking and floating goldfish pellets, flake and broken-up algae wafer. Will also happily eat bloodworm, brine shrimp and other meaty fresh food (frozen is fine)
Breeding
Egg layers. Goldfish typically spawn in late spring to early summer in temperate regions. In indoor aquaria, you are likely to succeed if you give them a cooler period simulating winter, followed by a gradual warming up to imitate the seasons changing. Ryukins can be difficult to sex when small; the females have thinner, narrow pectoral fins, and under the caudal fin you will find the vent (the vent is rounder and more pronounced).
Life Span
Assorted Ryukin goldfish can live up to 10-15 years in perfect conditions.
